Our wrestling program is lead by experienced coaches, Blaise Spratt and Bud Guinn. Participants learn Freestyle, Folk and Greco Roman style wrestling. Our program incorporates an innovative strength training program designed and coached by Freddie Myles. Myles Ahead Wrestling is a great way to gain strength and skills needed for a successful wrestling season, whether you are going to compete with the Myles Ahead team, in Junior High, or in High School.
My name is Scott “Blaise” Spratt. I have called Beautiful Sonoma County home now for almost 25 years. I attended Rancho Cotati High School where I wrestled and swam for four years. I then attended Santa Rosa Junior College where I wrestled for two years, placing 5th in the Junior College State Championships. I also earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Studies. During this time I also coached for two years at what was then Creekside Middle School. Following the JC I attended California State University Bakersfield, where I wrestled for two years and studied for an Undergraduate degree in Biology and Kinesiology. With one semester of eligibility left I ventured out to Iowa where I finished my wrestling career, qualifying for Nationals but falling one match short of placing. I returned home and completed my Bachelors Degree at Sonoma State University.
I began coaching with Jake Fitzpatrick at Santa Rosa Junior College soon thereafter. I had great success as a coach at SRJC having several State placers and sending several of my wrestlers to college on scholarship. It is very rewarding to see a young man or woman dedicate themselves to this sport and see them progress as a result. Following the JC I would coach individual athletes in private sessions where I helped to produce the first California State High School placer for El Molino High School.
I am now the Business and Operations Manager for Marin General Hospital Clinical Laboratory. I have seen the fruits of my labor and it inspires me to lead others in the same way
